Tours and Maple Sugaring

On our guided farm tours, what you see and experience changes with the seasons. Visit our baby chicks in spring. Explore the science and history of maple sugaring in winter. Meet our goats, sheep, rabbits, and pigs. Discover what it takes to operate an organic, regenerative, nonprofit farm.

Maple Sugaring Tours

Offered mid-February to mid-March, start of season is weather dependent.

Freezing nights in the 20s and warm days in the 40s trigger the sugar maple sap run, which starts our sugaring season. Discover the historical maple-sugaring techniques of indigenous peoples and colonists, as well as our present-day methods on the farm. Learn about tree identification, qualities of sap and syrup, how to tap, and more at our outdoor displays and tapped trees. And if the weather’s just right, you’ll observe sap dripping into buckets and boiling in our sugar shack.
