Education Pavilion
A gathering place for community
The Natick Community Organic Farm has served the community for over five decades, growing food, educating, and bringing neighbors together.
Following the Farm’s strategic planning process and the development of a farm wide Master Plan, a number of infrastructure improvements are on their way, including an education pavilion, beginning Fall 2026.

The Pavilion will provide more covered space. It is designed thoughtfully so it feels like it has always belonged here and will sit comfortably alongside the recently rebuilt timber frame barn.
The Details
Expected groundbreaking: August 2026
Structure
Traditional white oak timber frame, post-and-beam construction.
Dimensions
40' x 72' open all sides, once built we will explore the option of temporary siding that could be put up in inclement weather.
Roof
Living roof with native plantings and a surrounding boardwalk.
Joinery
Pegged mortise and tenon with black locust pegs.

Where the current Turkey house is (to the left of the barn when viewed from the driveway).
Full Circle
Ethan Higgins, of Roof Jumper Timber Frames, is the designer of the new pavilion. Ethan was employed at the Natick Farm during his teens and it’s where he first came across timber frame construction. We are delighted to be working with him on this project.
The 2026 Teen Work Crew is finishing up building a third hoop house on the Farm; this will house turkeys in the years to come, allowing them more safe space to sleep overnight, and easier access to several of their pastures.
