This workshop is for folks who are curious about getting chickens in their backyard and are looking for a good foundation of knowledge before committing.

Whether you’ve been on the fence about getting chickens for years, or if you had the thought yesterday, this class is for you! This beginner friendly class will be run by Ryder, who has had backyard chickens for the past 5 years and is a chicken enthusiast himself, and Meeghan, the livestock manager here at NCOF. We will be going through every step of raising chickens from egg to coop, which breeds are best for you, and preparing you for what it will look like to own chickens yourself. While it may sound like a lot of work, I can ensure you that everything will be worth it when you have six little fluffy butts running to greet you each morning, or when you sit down to eat an omelet that was made in your own backyard.
