NCOF offers two main types of Scouting Programs:

Boy Scout Badges


Read on below for descriptions, and keep in mind that we are happy to work with Scout leaders to find the best program for your troop.


Farm Fun Programs

Perennial favorites! These Farm programs get Scouts outside and learning about the natural world in a hands-on environment.


> Chore Time

Scouts will feed and water our Farm animals and secure them for the night.

When: Mon – Thurs

Time: 4pm-5pm

Fee: $48/6 Scouts and $8 each additional Scout

Ages: All

> Interactive Farm Tour

Explore your Community Farm through an interactive tour and see what farming is all about. Learn about our different farm animals, the plants we grow in our garden and greenhouses, our compost pile, and our maple sugar shack.

When: Mon – Sat

Time: 1 hour between 9am-5pm

Fee: $80/10 Scouts and $8 each additional Scout

Ages: All

> Holiday Crafts

Bring your Scouts for a cozy afternoon at the Farm. You can choose to either make your own beeswax candles or to create your own holiday gift wrap and gift cards. You’ll go home with beautiful gifts for friends and family. Materials included.

When: Nov – Dec, Mon – Sat

Time: 1.5 hours between 9am-5pm

Fee: $120/8 Scouts and $15 each additional Scout

Ages: All

> Maple Sugaring Tours

In late February and into March, we invite Scouts to learn all about maple sugaring in New England. Learn the history of sugaring, visit our tapped sugar maples, sample dripping sap, and stop by the sugar shack where sap might be boiling down into delicious syrup (boiling is weather dependent).

When: late February to late March

Fee: $80/10 people and $8 each additional person

Ages: All

> Sheep Shearing & Their Wool

Why do we shear sheep in the spring? How do sheep eat with no front teeth? Learn about the adaptations sheep have developed and watch them get their springtime haircut. Try your hand at carding and weaving the wool from our sheep, and learn what makes wool so wonderful!

When: April 30-May 4, 2018, Mon-Fri

Time: 3:15pm-4:30pm (other times on early release days)

Fee: $80/10 Scouts and $8 each additional Scout

2 hrs: $100/10 Scouts and $10 each additional Scout
