Got Milk?
Come learn about our milking animals. Spend some time with our milking friends! Does chocolate milk really come from brown cows? Come see and taste what we can make with milk!

Chore Time (Ages 3-5)
Come down to the Farm and wake the animals up. Help the Farm feed and water the animals and gather the eggs.

We are looking for little hands to help us harvest our crops and put the garden to bed.

Meet the Farm Animals
Meet our friendly Farm animals, cuddle a bunny, scratch a goat or hunt for eggs.

Fall Crafts and Activities
With your little fingers, transform bounties from the Farm into crafts to take home. From pumkin mania to making applesauce, from scarecrows to leaf crafts, we will be out and about on the Farm to discover and explore.
When: Wednesday, September 22, 29, October 6 and 13
Time: 10:30 – 11:30 am (1) or 1:30 – 2:30 pm (2)

Farm Friends
Each week we will visit a special Farm animal, read a story about it and finish with a project or craft related to our new friend.

Hop With the Bunnies
Spend time petting these warm, fuzzy little creatures. Learn how they live in the wild and how we care for them at home.

junior pond explorers Ages 3-5
Explore the waterways of the Farm and the creatures that call this aquatic world home. With dip net and magnifying glass in hand we will get a close-up view of some of the Farm's smalles critters.

School Age Programs

 

after school farmers KG - 4th Grade
In cooperation with ASAP (After School Activities Program at Memorial) we invite students to come down to the Farm and help with the many Fall Farm chores. ASAP students will be walked over from Memorial by a ASAP Staff member.
When:

KG and 1. Grade: Tuesday, September 14 through October 19

2nd - 4th Grade: Thursday, September 16 through October 21

Time: 3:30– 5 p.m.
Fee: $99 NM/$90 M and ASAP students; 6 classes

 

Youth Work Experience (Ages 11+)
We are inviting middle school students to join Farm staff after school to work in the gardens, take care of the animals and help with maintenance. This hands-on learning experience gives participants a chance to learn job skills.
When:
Tuesday afternoons (1) and/or
Wednesday afternoons (2) and/or
Thursday afternoons (3)
September 14 through November 18 (9 weeks)
Time: 3 – 5 pm
Fee: $90 NM/$81 M; per session

 

Got Milk? (Ages 5-8)
Let's visit the goats and our cow with calf. We'll milk our goats and find out about the many products we can turn it into.
When: Wednesday, September 15
Time: 3:30– 5 p.m.

Feed the Farm Animals (Ages 6-8)
Hands on interaction during afternoon chore time as the animals are fed and watered, cuddled and put to bed for the night.

Barnyard Buddies (Ages 5-9)
Help wake up the farm with morning chores. Feeding, watering, and collecting eggs.
When: Saturdays

Chickens and Turkeys (Ages 5-8)
Meet a chicken and greet a turkey. We learn what they really love to eat and feed them ourselves. Maybe if we're quiet, we can hold a chicken (turkeys will be too big). Then we'll hunt for eggs in the nesting boxes.
When: Wednesday, October 6
Time: 3:30– 4:30 pm

Farmer's Helper (Ages 8+)
Care for the livestock and help with the evening chores while feeding and securing the animals for the night.
When: Wednesday, October 13, 20 and 27
Time: 4:00– 5:00 pm

Only Bunnies (Ages 5-9)
Not enough time to play with the bunnies on regular farm visits? Thinking about a rabbit for a pet? Here's your chance to hold care for and get all your questions about these furry creatures answered.
When:
Session 1: Thursday, October 21
Session 2: Thursday, November 4
Time: 3:15– 4:15 pm
Fee: $11 NM/$10 M; 1 class

drama on the farm (Ages 6 - 9)
Discover the Farm as a place for Drama. We'll do warm-up exercises, plan a walking play, make costumes, set up our stage, practice and perform! ASAP (After School Activities Program at Memorial) students can be walked over from Memorial School by a staff member.
When: Tuesday, November 9, 16, 23 and 30
Time: 3:30 - 5 p.m.

Family Programs

 

TODDLER EXPLORERS
For those children too young to separate, come with your parent/caregiver for a fun exploration of the farm. Join us as we read a farm story, see the plants and animals, watch a goat being milked or touch a soft bunny. A wonderful first exploration of the Farm for children ages 1-3 years!
When:
Session 1: Thursday, September 23 and 30
Session 2: Thursday, October 7 and 14
Time: 9:30 - 10:30 am

A Farmer's Morning
Let's do it the farmer's way! First we will take care of the animals, feed and water them. We'll collect fresh eggs for breakfast, and then head inside for a hearty farm breakfast.
When:
Session 1: Sunday, September 26
Session 2: Sunday, October 10
Time: 9 – 10:30 am
Fee: $16 NM/$14 M; adults | $12 NM/$11 M; first child | $6 NM/$5 M; subsequent children, children under 3 are free
